Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a former chef in the Institute of Culinary Education and she was formerly an instructor of cooking. She is the host of The Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her trademark spiky blond hair and bubbly personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of dining out, and provides concise easy-to-master techniques for home cooks on her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell studied and worked in the best New York restaurants. He has also competed in Iron Chef America and the culinary landscape of Italy. Growing up in the upstate New York area, Chef Burrell found a passion of cooking and food at a young age. The Culinary Institute of America was the next step when she earned an Associate of Arts degree in English and Communications from Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was an amazing opportunity for me. The Culinary Institute of the Americas was an excellent place to study. Following graduation, Chef Burrell was able to spend a full year in Italy studying at an Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. The chef gained an appreciation of Italian food and culture throughout her time in Italy, which has influenced her style of cooking. Burrell has served on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board that brightens the lives of children facing difficulties. She also serves as an Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador where she is an advocate for the awareness of juvenile diabetes. In her capacity as a guest speaker and teacher, she travels around the U.S. to share her passion for cooking as well as her career. Anne has always been grateful she could share the passion that she had for cooking with others.
